A customer in the steel industry needed a company with the experience and expertise in machining large contoured parts. Davis Machine & Fabricating was contracted to perform all of the required work to fabricate the steel ring guide highlighted below, utilizing our state-of-the-art on-site CNC vertical boring mill to precision machine the part. This unit is used in a pipe forming equipment application, and required tight ± 0.001" tolerance throughout. After machining, the part was then deburred followed by comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections to ensure integrity and accuracy.

Finished dimensions for the ring guide were a 90" outside diameter and 19" in height. The unit weighed 5,500 lbs. and was finished in a smooth 63 RMS. 2 units are manufactured per order for this customer, with a turnaround time of 2 to 3 weeks.
